Who says Qore doesn’t have it’s benefits but being a leak before E3, I don’t think happened on accident. As a release engineer, I NEVER preloaded anything to production if it wasn’t ready to go. At most the content will be sitting in a pending status the night before or day of a prod release. So either this was intentional or someone really screwed up!
Specs
- 3.8″ screen (smaller than current models which are 4.3″)
- 43% lighter

- Bluetooth support
- no UMD drive
Games
- Gran Turismo (finally?)
- Jak and Daxter
- LBP
- Metal Gear Solid title
After watching the Qore episode, I do like it and the design is growing on me but my inital impressions is that this isn’t a true Sony product. Not the Sony I know. I love the standard memory and the expansion slot. In the episode Koller mentions that we want our media on the Go, hence the name. I have to ask, why limit the product to wifi? It would have been nice to know it uses or can use a cellular data connection so that you can really get your content on the go. I am rarely in a wifi accessible area and this would be more than welcome!
Having a smaller screen also bothers me. Maybe it is because they are trying to make this more user friendly meaning a sacrifice in size. This is telling by the amount of weight they are saving compared to the current models. I also cant help but want a touch screen. Not for gaming, but I would love to just keep it closed and navigate the XMB, PS Store, access the music controls, movie controls and everything else without having to open it. Maybe I should just wait until E3 to find out the details?
