New week and I am ready for it! I have tons of demos and stuff that I need to play and I likely won’t get through them all but I certainly will make time for a few new games this week.

LIMBO is releasing this week on PSN and Steam. This game was previously released on XBLA last year but within a years span, I have turned on my 360 all of two times. So whichever platform I go for, I think I will have fun!

Whats different about this next game is that yes, it is a PS3 exclusive title BUT it is exclusive to PlayStation Home meaning no downloads from the PlayStation Store. Unfortunately, I did not get to play this game during E3 in the E3 Home space but I have heard people say lots of good things about it. Just check out the video below.

Lots of things happening in Home and I wanted to give you a little reminder. If you haven’t visited Home, check it out. A nice way to meet other gamers, talk about games, play mini games, or hop into full retail games together. There is a PS3 community, it’s up to you to explore it.

How to join featured games

If you have the Featured Game and want to join in on the fun, just add one of these accounts and then use the “Go To” feature to travel to official “instances” of Central Plaza where the event is taking place (you can find the “Go To” option in your Menu Pad by going to your Friends List and then selecting the name of the host account). Once at the event, insert the Featured Game into your PlayStation 3 and either set up your own game launching session or join someone else’s (just look for the game title being broadcast above another player’s avatar).

To start off the week, the previous nightly events expanded to something new call the “Featured Game Party”. So what else is happening? Sony is offering additional free streaming videos in Home. Fullmetal Alchemist and Steven Seagal Lawman will be two full episodes streaming in the theater. If Sony’s past history is anything to go by, you could also find these available for download via the PSN Video Store.

You will also find, today only, a special showing of Final Fantasy XIII.

Starting today, you can watch an exclusive preview of the upcoming “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia: A Very Sunny Christmas” in PlayStation Home. This special holiday release will be available on DVD, Blu-Ray, and PSN starting Nov 17. That day seems to resonate with me very well as I will be playing a special re-release…

This preview will be available in Home from Nov 4th thru Nov 23rd.

If you haven’t been keeping up, Home has been getting some pretty cool content and more is to come starting with update 1.3 sometime this month. Unfortunately, most people think that there are no community activities within Home. Honestly, I forget about most so I don’t get to participate in everything. The events largely remain the same month to month so I should be safe posting the following:

New In Theater

Home is getting an update this September and it looks to be pretty cool if you ask me. Here are just a few things to look forward to:

• Universal Game Launching: Just like the close beta, we can now launch to any game on our system without leaving Home.
• Mall Preview: Preview the items you are about to purchase on your avatar or in your apartment.
• Camera: Take pics in 1st or 3rd person view. Saves to your XMB. New avatar emotes include posing for pictures.

Some of the other improvements mentioned are very much needed as well but we will see how the other updates affect Home such as queuing and targeting items.

This week is CES, and currently Sony is having their Keynote. Typically, there isn’t alot of gaming specific information that comes out of them but there has been some interesting numbers released.  It would appear that since it’s launch open beta status since Dec 11, 2008, Home has brought in $1 million dollars of store item sales. That is alot of money. It ws previously stated that Home, in it’s first 3 days made more than the Video store in it’s first week. To go along with the sales, 3.4 million users have downloaded Home, 2.1 million PSN accounts have been added the past month with a total of 17 million PSN accounts.

Felt I had to put the year in there since Home has been delayed many times. Unfortunately, this is not a full release, instead this is a beta release. Even so, making it more available to your community is a good thing.
