Capcom is apparently getting ready to push several download-able titles to the PSN which makes me ask the question “Why isn’t Sony doing this?”.
Previously we have heard the excuse that it was too costly and not financially worth it to put old PS1 and PS2 classics up on the PSN store. Then we heard their excuse of licensing being hard to resolve and that they were looking at it. Does this show a lack of preparedness at Sony regarding the PSN? Is it really that difficult to get these older titles on the store?
We are going into the 3rd year of the PSN and we have very little playstation classics available to us. The store has certainly grown and changed for the better since it’s launch but classic playstation software/franchises have still failed to make an appearance. It is as if everyone in the boardroom forgot they produced content for the PS1 and PS2 when outlaying plans for the PS Store. Let’s just hope we hear more from Sony and maybe I will cross my fingers for an E3 mention.
