This weekend has been filled with more gaming than ever. It could be because I start classes again tomorrow and my life will be filled with programming methods and blah, but I’ve purchased two games, and completed 1existing purchase.
MGS4 - If you don’t want spoilers then stop reading now! So after 22hrs I have finished all that is MGS4. No that was not all through 1 sitting. I played through about 18hrs when I first got the game and just recently decided to complete the game so I popped it in this weekend to finish the other 4hrs I apparently had left and received a Frog title for my run through. As it explains, on various missions I decided to sneak through but often I went in with guns and rockets flying. Especially in ACT 5 aboard the Outer Haven. I just didn’t care to sneak through. I blasted my way to the back of the ship, picked a good hiding spot and killed all the Gekkos I could before proceeding. My stress level was extremely high but I made it through. Last night I was speaking with a friend about it and he asked how much did I actually play. My best response for this game would be “If you are looking to just shoot people then pick something else (or play MGO) but if you want a great story, great cut scenes and great weapons, great gameplay then pick MGS4.” Not having a solid grasp on the MGS stories I was stil able to follow the game and learn alot through the cut scenes though started to get annoyed with them at the very end of the game. It seemed it could have ended much sooner but we got a detailed explanation of what and how things happened so from that perspective it was good to sit through, though, my brother was dying to play GTAIV… At some point in the future I will play through this game again. It deserves it.
Trauma Center: New Blood - I picked this game up this weekend as well. I popped it in with a friend and 6hrs later we called it quits. Typically I set a game level and leave it as that but even playing co-op I found that we switched the game from normal to easy mode. That is really sad to admit but I really got tired of restarting mission after mission. We reconviened the next day to get to what I believe our final surgery is but that section is kicking our asses so bad we once again called it quits. This game was definitely made for co-op as it doesn’t seem single player friendly. With all that said, I love this game just as I loved Second Opinion for the Wii. The game is very addictive to play and is great fun and frustration as well.
GRID - Not much to report on this. A friend plays the demo everytime he is over. My initial impression of GRID was horrible but I got drawn into the drifting fun it provided and ended up owning this game. I have played alot of it thus far and am enjoying it very much. A lot of times I get upset when driving the cars but I remind myself that this is an arcade title and not simulation. Like I said, I am enjoying this game alot!
Now as I pointed out in a previous post, can I finish the other games in my backlog or will I just keep adding to them?
